The other day, Evie ended up reminding John and me about display we ran across in our travels last summer. I figured we may as well share it with y'all as well... It's a salt lick contest. If you don't know, salt licks are blocks of salt that one puts out for animals to lick on. We also used to use molasses licks for our cows. The animals approach these blocks from all sides and lick away.

Saturday fun for JJ/SS....

We do things differently 'round here...

John and I don't do a traditional Christmas. no presents, no tree (if you haven't heard my tree rant, stay tuned for it shall surely surface in the next couple months) no giant snowmen or santa or reindeer in the yard. no church on Christmas eve. I do put stockings on the tanks for the fish and sometimes i put lights on one of the big house plants, but that's it. instead, we pack up and go to Cabo. Last year, the Christmas Cactus bloomed when we were gone, and no one was here to enjoy how pretty it was. It seems to be planning ahead this year and is going to bloom early.

These shoes have been in hiding for many years , wondering if they'd ever want to show their face in the light of day again. You know what, shoes? it might be time.

Now, it won't be with the sporty flag romper I wore you with in the 90's, but I bet we can find something...
oh and interweb? John has a matching pair. We matched before we even met.
