It Sucked and then we all laughed about it

Last night, we went to go see dooce as she was in town doing a reading for her new book. I zoomed there after class where lovely Mindy had been waiting for an hour to get us seats in the second row.

After what seemed like forever as the room filled up so much that they had to shut it off, dooce came in and read from her book. Chosen topics: boobs and sex.

Then we waited in line to get our books signed!!!

Well, actually Emily and Jennifer waited. Mindy peed, and I had to go ask the lost and found if anyone turned my phone in. In my rush to change from sweaty teaching clothes, I left it in the bathroom. Now, my phone is as old and boring (i mean you can't even play solitaire on it)so I'm hoping it makes it to lost and found so I can go claim it. Something funny is that as he was writing my name and what I lost into the lost and found book, he asked "what's your phone number so I can call you if it turns up?" but i digress.. It was a fun night and I read dooce every day, now I have a whole book of her!

blogworthy

Tonight, we had a delightful dinner with the McMillers

As I got ready to post this, I remembered that Ashleigh was concerned about my parenting skills. hmmm..

:)

Something worth mentioning....

Tonight, Spanktasia sold out.

Like, it was a full house and they had to turn people away at the door, not the kind where we do something lame for the sake of being famous.

it was cool.

Burlesque Thursday

Here we go again! Thursday is show day. This one, sadly, is the last one for a whole month and throughout all of April, Thursday will approach and I'll be just a little sad. Tonite is also looking like it is going to be the biggest show yet, audience-wise. That's pretty exciting. Also, the show is getting videoed tonight. That's exciting too. I always get a little nervous, but these two things must be on my mind more than I think because I've been up since 4 am (don 't self) when I awoke to choreography brain. There's no getting rid of it and I just had to lay there and go through choreography until I gave up and got up. But I've practiced all my dances twice and went through my costumes and superglued the soles back onto my shoes. Now I am about to go start hair and makeup.. oh, and pack up all these fabulous costumes.

It never ceases to amaze me how much room skimpy costumes take up.

I'll hire you to plant tulips.. two lips, right here!

Little Pink Devotional has me thinking.... about listing the jobs that I should have and reviewing some of the jobs that I have had. Right now, as I sit here on unemployment, I wonder what's next. Some things I think could be the next me and some are further down the road....

Sales chick for something cool
Sales chick for something that isn't very cool, but excites the nerd in me
Owner/sole employee (for now) of business selling pasties and cool accessories
Operations/Logistics Manager for some small business I haven't met yet
Dance/fitness teacher (always)
Giant petting zoo/Animal consultant. OK, this job doesn't exist, but if it did it would mean that I have lots of animals and you could come hang out with them and we as a team could help pick what pet would fit into your life and I would find it for you. I'd probably set up and maintain fishtanks as well.
Vacation photographer
Personal closet organization/shopping/fashion consultant
Housewife to independently wealthy husband (John, get on that) so that I can do something above without concern of income
Unknown/To be determined.......

I regret few of the jobs I've had and even the ones that I hated, I certainly learned something from.... Some of them even made me a better and/or smarter and/or at least street smarter person. These are some of the jobs that I've had (including only jobs where I've gotten paid):

Sugar Beet weeder
Tree weeder
Stall Cleaner
Dance teacher
Bank Teller
Dinosaur Museum Guide/Dino Dig instructor
Choreographer
Model
Receptionist/Scheduler at interior design company
Executive Assistant at furniture company
Admin at a software company
Receptionist at Bar Code hardware company
Admin at Bar Code hardware company
Salesperson at Bar Code hardware company
Salesperson at Golf Cart Part company
Salesperson/Tech support/Product Management/Marketing at software start up for Field Service software
Dance teacher (again)
Salesperson for Inventory/WMS Software
Burlesque Dancer

hmmm. I feel like each line is a puzzle piece.

hmm. I wonder what it's going to make.
