Thanksgiving 2010
We decided to have the second annual JJJS Thanksgiving with our lovely Jens. My friend Eva posted an invitation to free Jazzercise on Thanksgiving day, so I woke up early to go do some aerobicizing! After that, we met up for a group jog around the waterfront followed by champagne and lunch at Doug Fir. John jumps for joy that we did not have to volunteer this year....
That afternoon, we headed over to the Jens' house for some snacks and games in front of the fire.
the ever-present group shot :)
We had planned to take off on Friday for Pendleton to enjoy a night away but the weather reports of black ice and police requests to not travel unless you have to kept us from taking off through the gorge...
so instead... pub crawl!
walking through the winter wonderlands of downtown...
Don't forget to turn off your tree spinner!
Happy Holidays!

Fashion Friday
I have been into scarves this fall... I like the look of them with just about everything and I appreciate wearing them around the office. Our little section seems to be colder than the rest of the floor, so scarves are a good way to stay warm and not have to wear my coat all day or be tempted to wear my beloved hoodies to work (so. tempted. :)). My favorite thing about this outfit was the turquoise necklace and earrings against the animal print scarf, I liked it every time I looked in the mirror.
I have to say that this Fashion Friday challenge has done exactly what I hoped it would. It keeps me from living in my staples of jeans and black. As it gets colder, I very much want to get up and put on my old stand-bys, but knowing that I have to post this every week (for me, that is. I know my loyal 25 readers don't really care :)) helps me to continue to be creative and once I am out the door and going, I'm really glad that I took the time to do it.

Step1 of Winter: Go to coast
As the weather gets cold and our motorcycle goes into hibernation, we turn our adventures westward and head to the coast for our getaways. We took off Saturday morning and had a beautiful drive through the fog, looking at every fall color imaginable until we found the perfect amber hue....
We love to go to Newport and stopped to check in at the Rogue pub before heading to our hotel.
As luck would have it, we found bartender Chris there and had a couple beers before we retreated to our hotel for a dip in the pool.
We rested and cleaned up and headed out for a delicious dinner.
I think Jesus is taking a drink of my beer.
We met up with Chris at the Rogue brewery after his pub shift to continue our evening...
Sam was there too and got to hang out after she was done working!
As you may have guessed from the pictures of shenanigans in the last post, we had fun.
After the Rogue closed, we packed it up to head to another fun little bar, where the boys took part in some karaoke.
so fun. I love awesome friends.
We headed home, but I forgot my bag, so JJ and I had to come back to get it. This lady had been following John around all night and begging him to sing with her. He finally had no choice but to give in. Later, she followed him around and told him he was an ass. I think she was flirting.
As luck would have it, Chris mentioned that there still might be a few Chanterelles lurking about and he picked us up the next morning and we strolled though the woods...
Victory! (and right now, all of John's family gets a little jealous...)
We had a relaxing drive home, again with the fog and beautiful fall colors. and the ubiquitous seagull at all the stops..
I even got to ride a horse :)
We love you, coast, see you soon.

Fashion Friday
I must have gone into Goodwill last year right after someone my size dropped off a couple of skirts because I scored this one and a similar one in hounds tooth. I love the heavy fabrics of the short skirts with thick winter tights. I had a hard time finding which belt to wear; the brown cowgirl one didn't work, the plain black one had silver which conflicted with my earrings having gold... but they also have red! I wonder... yes!
and you want to zoom in on these boots.
It's like they're wearing a skirt too. I love them.

Fashion Friday
Let's hear it for sunshine in November! I got a pair of galoshes to wear to work when it gets rainy so that I don't have to destroy all my boots in the commute to and from the bus stop. I didn't even put them on this week! I love, love, love this skirt. I even undressed the mannequin at the store in order to try it on. I like the sporty feel of this outfit when I add the arm warmers.
and let's hear it for super cute earrings I've been rocking since the early 90's.
