I love it when the day of the recording everyone is dancing like champions. This was one of those nights. Way to go, ladies!

Fashion Friday
I love this skirt. It's one of those things that I could wear every day and already it's been my go-to swimsuit cover up when I need to run out and do something important, like run to the liquor store on a Saturday night.
I had been looking for a drapey white tank to layer and finally found one last weekend. I felt pretty and summery all day.
I always worry about wearing hot pink because it really does not work with my red hair. This seemed to be OK though, likely because the white separated them.
I adore these big old London Underground shoes. I bought them eons ago for $10 when I first moved to Portland and they had the LU sample store downtown. I think they are perfect for skirts and loved pairing the brown and pink.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!
Even though I tried to call three times and no one answered so I couldn't' tell you in person and you aren't on the interwebs for me to tell you electronically... It doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about you! Thanks for the even temper and ability to let most things just roll off "like water off a duck." Thanks for the drawing lessons when I was little and the after-lunch gin games when I was older. Thanks for instilling a strong work ethic. Thanks for the sense of humor and the clever wit. Thanks for working so hard for us to have an awesome life growing up. See you in a month!

Fashion Friday
I bought this dress at Target a couple months ago in anticipation of beautiful summer days and wearing bright colors to work (OK, I bought it in black too, but with the intention of wearing it with bright jewelery!). The solid bright color is pretty bold for me, but I kind of fell in love with it and was anxious to wear it. When I got these boots, I had to match them up.
As you know, I do love turquoise jewelery and took the opportunity to pile some on.
Yeah, zoom in on those boots. Little peeks of turquoise. They are a dream come true for me.
Here's another shot of the overgrowth that is our yard. It really is pretty in the spring.

Sunny Saturday!
After a nice motorcycle ride around town, we decided our day would be best spent in our backyard, ticking a few projects off our list. Step 1: Blender Drinks! After that, we closed the gate and let the kitties join us outside for the first time! Toki immediately started to explore. Pickles was outside for about 2 minutes, freaked out, ran inside and watched the rest of the afternoon from the safety of the kitchen window.
We inspected the sprouts in our flower bed...
John took some pictures of a motorcycle he is trying to sell and I started an art project...
Toki supervises....
It was super fun to spend the day together in the sun, working and playing in the yard. and now it looks like this, ta da!

Fashion Friday
Oh joy of joys, some sun! Yesterday I came home about an hour early and sat in my back yard in my shorts with a beer. Delight. I don't wear this look very often, but I love long skirts. This particular skirt is a size 16 in kids, so I'm grateful that some person at Goodwill about 4 years ago mistakenly put it in the adult section without checking the tag.
Something cool I've learned is that when you have a skirt, shirt, or dress that you never wear but can't seem to get rid of because you love the fabric, you can simply cut it into a strip and turn it into a scarf. I've done this with a couple items and it turns something that you love but never wear into a much smaller item that you still love and have far more opportunity to wear. This scarf was once a cute little dress that never quite fit right. Transformed into a scarf, it fits perfectly. It also give a chic look to 4 day old sweaty workout hair.
It's undoubtedly my mother in me, but for most of the summer, my wrist will look just like this. The turquoise bracelet is a hand-me-down from her and the silver bracelet is my all time favorite from our first trip to Mexico. I wear it so often that I think next year I will have to get another one to replace it; I'm actually wearing it out. and those are my Honeymoon rings, from 2 different Mexico trips.
As much work as it takes to keep this overgrown backyard from completely enveloping our house, I have to admit it really is pretty.

Chickens.
I was walking down the sidewalk coming home from work the other night and a big fluffy chicken came trotting across the road towards me.. Of course I stopped to make friends...
OMG, I could just scoop you up. We go back and forth about having some chickens of our own. They are such a delight.
True Story: Growing up, I had a chicken that looked just like this. Her name was Redneck.

Fashion Friday: His and Hers Anniversary Date Edition
Friday night when we got to Pendleton we cleaned up, changed clothes, and headed out for happy hour at Hamleys.
Our "Little bit Country, Little bit Rock and Roll" style fits in around here.
It was pretty cute that we both looked to the side and then straight on for these shots. Always on the same page, us two.
Cheers :)
and for fun, one old one from a Memorial Day long ago.
