We all met up in the woods on Saturday at the spot that every Judy can drive to, even when blindfolded. When we got there, we first met up with Tonya and Bryan and Quinn, the rookie. (photo by Missy)
John and I took to the hillside to hit the places that were good last year.. One of the funnest things about mushroom hunting is when you are with someone and you see a mushroom that they don't see. Don't step on it John!
We ran into John's folks and we all went back to "the spot" where we popped open the cooler and visited.
..we almost always find a few extra mushrooms around there while we chat.
We add those to the box..
or directly into the butter!
mmmmm...
The snow started to fall as we were finishing our snack, but Pa was going to hang out by the fire no matter what.
We didn't know that we had a visitor until we got back. Missy took this photo a second after I snapped the one above. WHOA!
and then the little snowflakes decided they meant business...
I retreated to the warmth and safety of the SUV in disapproval.
Missy, Jen and Cayla made the most of it.
We headed back to "town" and JJ and I stopped for a beer and to take a little walk around. There's always fun old stuff to use for pictures here.
and no one around to notice when you climb on their stuff.
Tonya, Bryan and Quinn were nice enought share their cabin with us for the night...
the view from our cabin...
The next morning after breakfast, we headed back to Pendleton and into the sunshine and had lovely evening before heading back home on Monday... 3 day weekends rule.
