This night has endless stories. We experienced fear, anxiety, relief, gratitude, confusion (WTF, AC?), love and obviously a little unabashed happiness :) So, the norm for us.

Funday!

Something awesome that my home team does is meet up at the river on summer Sunday afternoons for volleyball and beers and swimming/boating/water shenanigans and to recover and maybe remind each other of what happened the night before.  Since the weather was so beautiful and beet harvest was shut down, we were lucky enough to get one last Funday when I was home.

The river was too low for boats, but luckily we have a backdoor :)

I think by now we are on the third game. Rob and Judd seem to be moving a lot slower.

I even tricked them into plugging in my ipod for a bit.  A couple dance mixes and our little NoDak beach is kind of like Cabo.  I love Rob in this shot :)

We stayed late and had a bonfire and everything. I love this day.

Digging beets and not digging beets

I am really glad that I decided to come a couple days before I thought harvest would start because as it turns out, they started early and the day I learned to drive was the most time I spent in the truck.


 I rode with Dad and got my instructions and then got into the driver's seat. I am not going to be known for my innate truck driving abilities, but I didn't totally screw anything up.

The piler is pretty scary, taunting me while I wait my turn and hope not to do anything stupid while I'm up there.

After our first successful day, we spent a fun night hanging in the shop.

Since we stayed shut down over the weekend, we found ourselves back in the shop for some Sunday football. The kids got some work done.
