Fun run
Last week I went out for my 7-mile Sunday run and between the weather, my new playlist, and a general feeling of being strong, I ran an extra 2 miles. This Sunday, I thought I would shoot for a 10 mile run just to hit the double digits. Once I got to 10, I still felt good and decided to see if I could hack a half marathon, so I tagged on three more miles. I felt good afterwards and wasn't overly sore or tired. Today I feel great. I'm in the best shape of my life.

Photo Challenge - Weekly Recap
Day 11 - purple
not quite enough purple to hopscotch the whole block.
Day 12 - spoon
Day 13 - simple
sun, water, point your toes.
Day 14 - arrow (or aro, as short for arowana)
Ahzi is my 8 month old Australian Arowana (yes, like marijuana). I've had aros for over 20 years and I like the Australian variety because they have a smaller max size and can realistically live their entire lives in an aquarium setting (albeit a large one). I'll stop there but know that I have approximately 10 million arowana facts and stories and can talk passionately for hours about them if prompted. see also: my tats. love, fishgirl
Day 15 - ready
...to get their cute little butts kicked :)
Day 16 - food
I can't take her anywhere.
Day 17 - faces
fave fam photo :)

Something fun
I got to sub Vega's Cardio Funk class for the first time last week and it was so awesome. I was nervous because it is a different style of choreo for me and a little different class format, but the dance gods smiled on me and everything went great. Everyone had fun and they killed it :)

Birthday Weekend!
We took our traditional trip to Pendleton for John's birthday. We arrived Friday night and had dinner at Hamley's and then went to the pool and hung out with the other hotel pool-goers, including two pretty cute 4 year old twin girls. and some beers.
The next day is the birthday challenge: John runs for as many minutes as he is old. 43 minutes. done!
Then, back to the hotel to rest, hang by the pool, and countdown to lunch, and lunch beers.
One post lunch drink at the Rainbow:
Then pool time all afternoon.
Top that off with a nice dinner and a trip back to the Rainbow.
The Rainbow always means that we will stay out too late and drink too much, but it is always fun. This time was no disappointment. Well, not until I woke up and had to get my 6 mile run in on Sunday morning anyway :)

NoDak and Back - Part 3: Vacay
We love the long trip back to Portland on the bike. Beautiful weather, a combination of familiar and unfamiliar stops, no rushing, stopping for a historical marker and posing for a picture...
This year, we went north to Flathead Lake. John spotted the boat trip around the lake and we rushed to get tickets and it was so perfect. Beautiful and relaxing with drinks and music and a very small crowd.
Afterwards, we took advantage of our room's little porch and had Subway for dinner looking out at the lake and walked out on the dock to feed the seagulls.
It was pretty obvious that the sunrise there would warrant a morning run. It did not disappoint.
The next day is one of our favorite routes ever, through Lolo Pass.
We land in the quaint little town of Orofino, where we have a nice dinner and frolic around the river.
The next day, another great bike route down Rattlesnake Grade.
This was the only road construction we ran into the whole trip, which is amazing on a 3000 mile journey.
Every corner you round offers an amazing view.
Rattlesnake grade brings us into Oregon and we start to descend upon our beloved Pendleton.
We spend the day relaxing and preparing ourselves for the last leg of the journey and back to life in the city. Pool time is in order.
One last night out. I love this trip.
