Day 24 - an animal
This is Bud. He lives at my folks' place and lets me ride him in the parade every year.
Day 25 - breakfast
I added spinach and cheese and salsa and hot sauce as I scrambled these. John had the genius idea to top them with leftover guacamole. yum.
Day 26 - key
yes, I pay $5 to have a key with rhinestones on it.
Day 27 - your name
In case you were wondering which desk is mine.
Day 28 - trash
It's always cool to see what you run into in the depths of the forest while out mushroom hunting. I wonder how many winters this can has been through?
Day 29 - feet
These guys have taken me running hundreds of miles, spent years in the dance studio learning to tap, go en pointe and dance in heels. They've leapt and turned and pointed their toes countless times. They ran barefoot around the farm growing up and once lost a toenail to an unfortunate collision with a hoof. They've had blisters and calluses and pains from overuse. They put up with straps and heels and they never let me down. Thank you, feet.

America, F*ck Yeah
This morning, John saw a bald eagle fly out from under the Hawthorne bridge on his way to work. This morning, I saw a guy putting on his underwear as he yelled "you f*ing bitch" back into a tarp tent under the Hawthorne bridge on my way to work.

March Photo Challenge: Weekly recap
Day 17- green
Live plants. Plus, I am green with envy of those who have a 500 gallon tank and could adequately raise a school of these beautiful monsters without fear of overgrowth.
Day 18 - a corner of your home
My dressing room is the coolest room in the house. Every inch of it tells a story. I will happily take a bottle of wine up there and tell you all of them.
Day 19 - funny
Going through your pockets after a particularly riotous game night.
Day 20 - before/after
Before: carefully selected debris from the forest floor
After - Bed! Thank you, wood worker John!
Day 21 - delicious
Common Grounds latte and scone. one of my favorite treats. mmm
Day 22 - kitchen sink
The "Kiss me I'm great" piece was on my mom's stove for as long as I can remember and I have always loved it. I took it when I left and still love it every time I see it. ...which happens to be all the time since we don't have a dishwasher.
Day 23 - moon

Last day of 36
I taught my morning class and did some work. Now I am going to go get a delicious mocha and take myself shopping with a gift card I got from work a couple months ago. Then new nails and a pedicure. Finally, home to rock out to my ipod while I move baby Ahzi to his bigger tank and maybe have a glass or two of wine. I love my life and my husband and my friends and my family and my job and my house and my pets. a very merry un-birthday to me :)

Game Time!
I was tagged by the lovely Jill, and I like games!
Here are the rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
1. I have never eaten meatloaf.
2. My mom and I still trade clothes and shoes. Some of the items we've been sharing for 20 years.
3. I get a big thrill out of going to Vega in the morning to work out in the studio by myself and looking out at the city as the sun rises.
4. In my adult life, I've never had a place with a dishwasher.
5. I make all of the decor in my fishtanks with plants from the dollar store, rocks (or plastic rocks) and elastic.
6. I've have really good willpower.
7. I love going out for a 4-6 mile run by myself. I have no interest in running a marathon or any group run.
8. I hate yardwork.
9. I think that plugging my ipod into the big speakers and cleaning the house is a blast.
10. Once upon a time, the keyboard player form Confederate Railroad asked me to come on tour and be his groupie girlfriend.
11. My favorite movie is Hot Tub Time Machine. It's beat all of the classics that I've loved for so many years.
1.What is your favorite day of the week?
Saturday! Saturday is the day that most adventures happen.
2.If you could pick an actress to play you in a movie of your life who would it be?
Jennifer Garner. I love her.
3.What did you want to be when you were a child?
First a football player, then a truck driver.
4. What is your favorite book and why?
Imajica by Clive Barker. When John and I first met, he let me borrow his copy of this book. It was cool to read a favorite of this person I immediately loved. When I got to the end, I rationed pages to make it last as long as possible. I never did give John his copy back, but I replaced it with an autographed one.
6.Would you rather have your flight delayed or lose your luggage?
Well, I make it a rule to never check luggage so the latter does not happen! If I was going somewhere that I had to check luggage, my guess it would be a pretty long trip so the stuff I was taking would be important. Then I would pick a flight delay. See you in the bar.
7.What celebrity do you want to meet most?
That's a hard one. I think it would just be awkward and uncomfortable to meet a celebrity. I wasn't even cool when I ran into one of the contestants from SYTYCD. If this is strictly for a photo opp, I'm going to pick someone awesomely recognizable, like David Hasselhoff.
8.What is your favorite tv show?
Probably Parks and Rec.
9.What’s one thing from your bucket list that you want to do next?
I don't really have a bucket list, but something I want to do in the next 5 years or so is a motorcycle trip through the South.
10.Who is your hero?
you are.
11.If you had the chance to go back to high school, Would you?
oh hell no. Every time I encounter a teenager I am grateful that my time there is over.

March Photo Challenge: Weekly recap
Day 10 - loud:
Loud pipes save lives.
Day 11 - Someone you talked to today:
Pickles helped me rearrange my closets today. We talked about her favorite purple mouse that was hidden in one closet and she rubbed against my shoes and mewed in the other. A pleasant exchange.
Day 12 - fork:
Forked horns.
Day 13 - a sign:
John and I used to laugh every time we drove through Warm Springs and saw this constantly vandalized sign. Now we laugh because they finally gave up and took it down.
Day 14 - clouds:
The road from North Dakota to South Dakota is about as straight as it gets. And simple and quiet and vast and endlessly tranquil when seen from the back of the bike on a hot summer day.
Day 15 - car:
Meth Truck. You have never seen more anti-meth messages than when traveling through MT. Although it's funnier to think that this is actually the truck that belongs to the local drug dealer and he's simply advertising.
Day 16 - sunglasses:
2 cool 4 school

March Photo Challenge: Weekly recap
Day 1- up:
96 if you are counting.
Day 2 - fruit:
Even Trippy knows I make killer banana bread. He usually eats worms, but I feel that's irrelevant.
Day 3 - your neighborhood:
I live in the city, we walk to coffee and to bars, its a quick 20 minutes to downtown and this is my running route. Portland, you are the prettiest.
Day 4 - bedside:
Staycation
Day 5 - a smile:
A horse smile, to be exact.
Day 6 - 5pm:
long shadows
Day 7 - something you wore:
Hell. Yes. We actually wore them a lot.

Day 9 - red:
Wedding boots :)

Nicky Croon!
After a super successful show last fall, Nicky Croon and the Swingin' Richards had a repeat performance in February. As luck may have it, we showgirls got to grace their stage again as well. I did my routine to "Beyond the Sea" and took the opportunity to turn my mom's wonderful retro bikini (from the late 60's!) into my costume. I carefully sewed the sequins on as to not ruin it forever with glue in normal costuming fashion.
The show happened to be the same night as the company Christmas party and John and I double dated with my boss and his lovely wife. We made a quick appearance at the company party and then headed over to the venue, where I ditched my party dress for my (mom's) bikini and some glitter! Hi girls!
This show is so fun and Nic does a great job hosting.
John and Kim bust a move.
I was proud of my prop. While on my Beyond the Sea adventure, I grab a fishing pole stashed on stage and faux-fish. When I faux-catch a heart, I velcro is to the fishing pole and viola! A cane.
It was so fun to do this again and I am grateful that I still get to have these little snippets of stage time in my life. It's not enough to cause anxiety or time consumption, and just enough to be a total blast.

I know...
I kind of phoned it in last month and I don't really feel like blogging right now. While I wait to be re-inspired, I am going to put up some stuff that happened last month while I was Photo Challenge-ing. It's not that nothing's happening, our life is still full of awesome adventures and general shenanigans. I'm doing another photo challenge on facebook and I am having great fun in it. It's like scavenger hunt to find just the right picture for each day. I'm not going to post it every day here, but I do think that I'll do weekly recaps.
Bear with me, my 3 loyal readers.
