I broke a 5 year tradition and did not teach Thriller at TnT this year. My little ghouls mashed it up, monster-style instead :)
PS: THIS WAS THE 1000 BLOG POST ON THIS BLOG! I'm glad it's a dance vid! W00T!

Dressing Room Party
Miss Carrie is getting ready for a fancy boudoir photoshoot and so I volunteered some of my burlesque trunk for the occasion. and since 3 friend opinions are better than 1, Amanda and Anna joined us for the trying on of the goodies. We had piles of snacks and champagne and cozied into my little dressing room and basically spent the rest of the night giggling laughing hysterically. It was delightful. I promise we didn't talk about boys or sex at all.

breathe. step-tap, step-tap.
I am frustrated this morning and spinning my wheels on something I don't want to be doing while a fun project is waiting for me. I'm also inspired and want to write and pour out my feelings. I need a revised creative outlet. Ye 'ol blog has been a repository for little more than my photo challenge lately so I think it needs an overhaul. I also wonder if anyone reads it anymore. If so, is my audience my intended audience or if I share my life right here am I putting myself or someone I love at risk? I don't know the answers. and I don't really want to know who shows up here to check on my life, just that you do it for entertainment purposes. I'm happy to perform my happiness and sadness and put myself out there and will do it for an audience who is either anonymous or caring, but I worry sometimes that there is a lurker who could do harm or just cause general tumult. Can't you bad guys just stay on Facebook? I want you to come because you think I'm interesting or funny or take good pictures or that my dance vids are badass (because, duh. they are). and I want to share.
On an unrelated note, I have my hair down today and it's clean and I don't have any makeup on except lipstick and I feel pretty. I like when that happens.
Also, here is a dog and a ball and a bunny, all roughly the same size.

Halloween!
I love any excuse to put on a costume and cannot turn down a theme party so needless to say, this girl loves Halloween.
My dear friend Anna held a housewarming/birthday/Halloween party on Saturday and I took my inspiration from her Day of the Dead invitation and did my first shot at some fancy skeleton makeup. It was super fun to do.
John used different make-up than me and his turned out well too, except that 2 days later, the color still shows on his face :)
Upon walking the door, you were greeted by these two:
Beautiful Anna and her sister Sonja. I'm pretty sure Sonja is cute underneath this costume.
Anna's roommate had unknowingly created an exact Barbie replica of my costume, down to the shoes!
Hilarious coincidence.
Flapper Amanda and Sara "Baberaham Lincoln" aka dance friends stopped by and we staked out the kitchen.
Sometimes when people find out that dance friends are at a party, you accidentally end up performing.
I am going to break my 5 year tradition and teach a super fun dancey Monster Mash instead of Thriller this year after being inspired by this super fun night with my dance buds.

Photo Challenge - Weekly Recap
Day 13 - landscape
Tiny landscape tucked inside a fence frame.
Day 14 - makes you laugh
If you have these on your fridge, you will find me there for most of the party.
Day 15 - dinnertime
yes, I know. you are STARVING!
Day 16 - something you wrote
This is goddam genius. a must-read especially if you were in my crew at DSU.
Day 17 - fruit
Early sunset, turning leaves, and the final ripe grapes on the vine.
Day 18 - made you smile today
Every one of these faces, every cheer and grunt and groan, every sweaty shirt, and every message I will get tomorrow about something hurting. I have already been smiling for 2 hours today because of these guys.
*I don't care that this is a crappy photo. That's what happens when you get up in the dark to work out.
Day 19 - letters

Glittering the horses
This summer, my glittery parade horse was quite a hit and I had promised Drini that we could do it together when I came back. I mailed a bunch of colored glitter so that we could pick our favorite colors and mix and match. It was quite successful. I also decided to bust our my SLR for the day and I am super stoked with all the pics.
Love.
Love.
